PROFILEPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Ron practices in the areas of commercial real estate, commercial finance and land development, energy and natural resources law, oil & gas law, potash and business and commercial law. His experience includes transactional work in the Province of Saskatchewan for a wide variety of local and national clients in the resource sector and the real estate development industry, as well as major financial institutions.

Ron’s advice has been sought by clients in numerous secured transactions, business and commercial property acquisitions, development, sales and financing transactions including title reviews, drafting and reviewing contracts, security agreements and conveyancing documents and completing Personal Property Security Act, 1993, and Land Titles Act, 2000 registration requirements and financing opinions. His work in the natural resources area has included detailed investigations of title, review of title documents and lease files, rendering title opinions and advising in connection with petroleum and natural gas acquisitions and dispositions, mining, financing and related transactions serving major corporate and commercial resource clients.

Ron is listed in the 2012 to 2020 editions of The Best Lawyers in Canada in the areas of Natural Resources and Real Estate Law and selected as “Lawyer of the Year” Natural Resources Law, Regina (2013, 2017, 2021 and 2023, and Real Estate Law (2020, 2022 and 2024). He is also recognized as a “Band 3” Lawyer in the practice area of Corporate/Commercial for Chambers Canada 2021.

Ron is a member and former Director of the Canadian Energy Law Foundation and is a member of various professional associations including the Canadian Bar Association, the Business Law and the Environmental and Resource Law subsections of the Saskatchewan Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, and the Regina Bar Association, and a member of the Building Owner & Managers Association (BOMA) of Regina.
