Marisha carries on a general practice of law with a particular interest in fertility law issues, wills and estates, and agriculture law.
Marisha comes from a farming family in southwest Saskatchewan and her interest in agriculture has continued as she enjoys assisting clients in farm succession planning and agriculture-related business relationships. Marisha regularly advises clients in estate planning and estate administration. Marisha’s wills and estate practice involves preparing wills, powers of attorney, and health care directives, as well as completing probate and administration applications for clients.
Marisha also practices extensively in the area of fertility law and takes pride in the fact that she is one of the pioneer practitioners in the province in this relatively new and emerging area, having assisted over one hundred couples and individuals. As a Mom herself, Marisha feels very fortunate to have the privilege of assisting her clients with creating or expanding their own families or those of others. She regularly provides advice on all aspects of surrogacy and fertility law. She works with intended parents, surrogates (both gestational and traditional surrogates), egg donors, sperm donors, and others wishing to donate their embryos. She assists with preparing gamete donation agreements and surrogacy agreements. She also assists intended parents with communications with medical staff, as well as the registration and amendment of their baby’s birth in Saskatchewan, and making application to the Court to obtain the necessary declarations of parentage. Marisha works with both domestic and international clients. Her extensive practice has given her the opportunity to develop relationships with not only with her clients but also other fertility law professionals throughout the country and, as a large portion of her practice involves assisting international clients, throughout the globe. Marisha has also assisted with and presented at Canadian fertility law conferences.
